Can The List target Baron Nashor?

verified
FAQ #11818·asked by Yuri·August 18, 2026
Answer

No. The List's activated ability ("Give a unit with the named tag −2 Might") requires choosing a specific unit, which counts as targeting (Rule 355.7), and Baron Nashor can't be chosen by enemy spells and abilities (Rules 756–758).

This applies to gear abilities too — an activated ability is an "ability" for Baron's protection, same as a spell. Note that Baron's tag is "The Void," so even if you name the right tag, he still can't be chosen.

Removed the last line because it could confuse the AI for units like Ruin Runner
