If enemy cull the weak can I reveal a hidden unit and kill that?

FAQ #11866·asked by cGah·August 20, 2026
Answer

Yes. Cull the Weak doesn't target — "Each player kills one of their units" means you pick at resolution, so you can kill the hidden unit you just revealed.

While facedown, your Hidden unit has Reaction (Rule 811.1.b), so you can play it in response to Cull the Weak. It enters the battlefield where it was hidden, resolves first, and then when Cull the Weak resolves you're free to choose it as the unit you kill — or any other unit you control. If it's your only unit, you must kill it.
