does shady spectacles copy the might of a unit if it has gear on it?

It copies the target's printed Might, but not the Might bonus from its gear. Copy effects only copy "copyable traits" — the unit's printed/copied Name, Type, Tags, Cost, Domain, Rules Text, and Might (Rule 477.1.b.1.a). Gear is a separate game object, so its Might bonus is not part of what's copied (FAQ #11794).

Example: if you copy a 3-Might unit that has +2 Might from Equipment, your equipped unit becomes a 3-Might copy — it doesn't inherit the +2.

Note the distinction: the gear on the copy target is ignored, but the equipped unit keeps its own attached gear (including Shady Spectacles itself), so that gear's Might bonus still applies on top of the copied Might.
