For Astral Heron: Play in triggered abilities: When a trigger condition checks whether a card is played, play means “resolve.” The first card needs to resolve while Astral Heron is still at a battlefield. Astral Heron leaves the battlefield during the resolution of Retreat, so his trigger never fires.
