No — if the Star-Crossed is played in reaction to the Equip, the Sprite stays a Sprite.

Shady Spectacles' copy choice isn't made when you activate Equip; it happens as the attach event executes, as a replacement effect (FAQ #11746). Star-Crossed resolves first, so by the time Spectacles actually attaches, Ornn is in hand and isn't a legal "another friendly unit" to choose. Your Spectacles still attaches to the Sprite — you just get to choose a different friendly unit as the copy source, or the choice is ignored if you have none (FAQ #11957).

If instead Ornn was already copied and Star-Crossed comes later, removing Ornn doesn't matter: the copy lasts "for as long as this is attached," so the Sprite keeps Ornn's copyable traits (Might, rules text, tags, Deflect, etc.) until Spectacles detaches.

Small note: if the Ornn in question is Ornn, Forge God, his Deflect 2 makes the opponent pay 2 extra power to choose him with Star-Crossed.
