Answer

Ruling: It is a warning if the player who made the error calls it themselves or if it's caught before opening hands are drawn; otherwise it is a game loss.

Sequence:

  • Judge should be called to pull the chosen unit out of the deck
  • The erroring player should not see any cards in the deck during this process
  • A warning is issued (assuming the player caught their own mistake)

Nuances:

  • The penalty depends on who catches the error and when it's caught
  • If caught after opening hands are drawn and not by the erroring player, it becomes a game loss instead of a warning
