Ruling: The store needs to add the judge as staff to their store organization on Carde.io. Once added as staff with view-only judge permissions, the judge can access the members page and assign themselves to events.

Sequence:

• Store sends an invite to the judge to be a member of staff at their organization
• Judge signs in with their Carde.io account
• Judge is taken to the members page where they can see other people in the organization
• Judge can now assign themselves to events
• Judge permissions can be easily upgraded/downgraded between view-only judge, floor judge, and head judge

Nuances:

• Simply using the invite link may not work properly - Google login can fail with errors and password reset login may redirect to the Create A Store page instead of joining the store organization
• This appears to be a per-store setup rather than a per-event assignment
• Head judge role gets additional access to see payment status and mark people as paid
