If I play Time Warp and it gets countered by Mystic Reversal (giving my opponent an extra turn), then play another Time Warp on the same turn, which player takes the next turn?

Answer

Ruling: The player who played the second Time Warp takes the next turn, followed by the opponent's extra turn from the first Time Warp. The most recently resolved Time Warp inserts its extra turn immediately after the current turn.

Sequence:

  • Current turn (Player A) completes
  • Player A's extra turn (from second Time Warp)
  • Player B's extra turn (from first Time Warp that was reversed)
  • Normal turn order resumes (Player B's regular turn)

Nuances:

  • There are no official rules yet on how multiple extra turns interact
  • Time Warp is interpreted as inserting a turn immediately after the current turn when it resolves, not as creating a queue
  • This has nothing to do with chain mechanics (FIFO/FILO)
  • Some judges may interpret Time Warp as creating a delayed game effect at end of turn, which could result in turn player priority, but the consensus leans toward the insertion model
