Does Zhonya's save a unit from Falling Star's damage, or does the unit die because Falling Star deals 3 damage twice?

Ruling: Zhonya's can save the unit from Falling Star. Falling Star creates 2 reflexive triggers that each deal 3 damage, and after each trigger resolves there is a cleanup step where units would die. Zhonya's can be activated from Hidden at reaction speed at any point during the main chain or its reflexive triggers to prevent the death.

Sequence:

• Falling Star enters and chooses the same target twice
• Two reflexive triggers are created on the chain that each deal 3 damage
• After each item on the chain resolves, there is a cleanup step
• During the main chain or reflexive triggers, Zhonya's can be activated from Hidden at reaction speed
• When the unit would die during cleanup, Zhonya's recalls it to base instead

Nuances:

• This ruling changed after the FAQ update and China regional officials ruling. Previously, both instances of damage were dealt simultaneously before cleanup, but now they are separate reflexive triggers with cleanup steps between them.
