Ruling: The showdown continues even if there are no units present in the battlefield. Both players can still play actions.

Sequence:

• Player 1 moves a unit into a battlefield and opens a showdown
• Player 2 uses an action to move that unit away
• The showdown continues with both players able to play actions
• The showdown only ends when both players pass focus consecutively without playing anything
