Answer

Ruling: Both players choose their cards secretly from their top 5, then recycle the unchosen cards. After both players have chosen, the cards are played starting with the next player (opponent goes first), then the Promising Future owner plays their chosen card last.

Sequence:

  • Each player looks at the top 5 cards of their Main Deck
  • Each player chooses one card (secretly)
  • All unchosen cards are recycled
  • Starting with the next player (opponent), each player plays their chosen card, ignoring Energy costs
  • The Promising Future owner plays their chosen card last

Nuances:

  • The two parts of the card are separated by a line break, emphasizing that the first part (choosing and recycling) must be fully resolved before the second part (playing cards)
  • If a chosen card cannot be played (e.g., cannot afford Power costs), it remains on top of the Main Deck
  • Chosen cards exist in a temporary "chosen" state and are not in hand until played
  • If Divine Judgment is played during Promising Future resolution, the face-down chosen cards are not valid targets and remain in their zones
