Ruling: The player who first moved to the battlefield and initiated the contested status is the attacker. The opponent who played Ride the Wind to move in afterward is the defender.

Sequence:

• First unit moves to battlefield, initiating a non-combat showdown
• Opponent plays Ride the Wind, moving a unit to the same battlefield (combat showdown is now pending)
• Resolve the non-combat showdown (cannot score because enemy units are present)
• Begin combat showdown with the first player as attacker

Nuances:

• The first unit that initiates contested status is always the attacker, regardless of how the second unit arrives
