If a card prevents you from scoring (like Forgotten Monument), do you still get gold from conquer/hold effects like Renata and Plundering Poro?

Answer

Ruling: If a card says you cannot score, you do not get conquer or hold effects. If a card says you cannot score points, you do get the conquer/hold effects but not the points.

Nuances:

  • Cards like Forgotten Monument prevent you from "scoring" entirely, so the entire score process cannot occur and you get no conquer/hold effects
  • Cards like Crownguard prevent you from "scoring points" but still initiate the score process, so you get conquer/hold effects but not the point itself
  • Renata and Plundering Poro would not trigger their effects with Forgotten Monument
