Answer

Ruling: To win by conquering, you must score both battlefields in a single turn. This can be done either by starting at 6 points and conquering both battlefields during your turn, or by holding one battlefield at the start of your turn (going from 6 to 7) and then conquering the other during your action phase.

Sequence:

  • Option 1: Start turn at 6 points, conquer both battlefields during your action phase to win
  • Option 2: Start turn at 6 points, score 1 point from holding at top of turn (reaching 7), then conquer the other battlefield during your action phase to win
  • Option 3: Start turn at 7 points, score 1 point from holding at top of turn (reaching 8) to win

Nuances:

  • The final point can only be gained from conquering if you have scored the other battlefield through either holding at the top of the turn or conquering it during your action phase on the same turn
  • You cannot win by conquering just one battlefield to go from 6 to 7 points
