How do might reduction effects like Stupefy interact with buff counters on units? Does Stupefy affect base might or current might, and does the order of applying buffs and debuffs matter?

Answer

Ruling: Stupefy looks at current Might, including buffs and any other modifiers already applied. The order in which buffs and debuffs resolve on the chain determines the final result.

Sequence:

  • Effects resolve in order on the chain
  • Stupefy reduces current Might (not base Might) to a minimum of 1
  • Buffs applied after Stupefy will increase Might above 1
  • Buffs applied before Stupefy are included in the current Might being reduced

Nuances:

  • If a unit with a buff counter is Stupefied, then the buff is removed, the unit can end up with 0 Might (since Stupefy's minimum of 1 only applies during its resolution)
