At competitive REL, can a player take back previous actions after learning new information from a judge?

Ruling: Generally no. Players are expected to call a judge to confirm rules before making decisions. A player can only rewind and make a different decision if they have not gained any new information since taking the action and a judge allows it.

Sequence:

• Players must consider options before taking actions
• If uncertain about rules, call a judge before making the decision
• After taking an action, rewinding is only allowed if no new information was gained
• Judges who can't be sure no information was gained should not allow rewinding

Nuances:

• A judge ruling itself may constitute "new information" that prevents rewinding
• When it's unclear whether new information was gained, judges should not allow the rewind
• If multiple actions have been taken in sequence, rewinding is not an option
