Ruling: After the showdown begins, if the initiator passes priority and then the opponent also passes, the showdown proceeds directly to combat resolution. The initiator does not get priority again.

Sequence:

• Move a unit to a battlefield
• Showdown begins
• Initiator has Priority and Focus
• Initiator passes
• Opponent has Priority and Focus
• Opponent passes
• Showdown either ends or proceeds with combat

• After both players pass, no spells can be cast until the showdown is resolved
