Can Forge of the Future recycle itself?
verified
Answer
Ruling: No, Forge of the Future cannot recycle itself.
Sequence:
- You must choose targets before paying the cost
- Since Forge of the Future is targeting, it must still be in play when targets are chosen
- Therefore it cannot target itself to be recycled as part of its own cost
