Can I take back or change a play during my own turn if it doesn't involve the opponent or give me extra information?

Answer

Ruling: You are not allowed to rewind without judge approval. Whether you can take back a play is up to the judge's discretion.

Nuances:

  • Whether or not you gained information is subjective to the judge, and everything can potentially be information
  • Generally, if you play a unit that doesn't cause a chain and want to change your decision within 5-10 seconds, a judge would likely allow it
  • The amount of time that is reasonable is up to the judge
