Answer

Ruling: Wielder of Water becomes 1 might. Switcheroo applies an arithmetic snapshot modification of -3 (the difference from its current 4 might to the 1 might unit), which combines with the Wielder's existing +2 to result in 1 might total.

Sequence:

  • Wielder starts at 2 base might with +2 from its passive ability (4 total while attacking)
  • Switcheroo applies a -3 modification (arithmetic layer)
  • Final calculation: 2 base + 2 (passive) - 3 (Switcheroo) = 1 might
  • After combat ends, if Wielder returns to base (not attacking), it becomes -1 might (2 base - 3 from Switcheroo)

Nuances:

  • Units can have negative might values; this does not kill the unit
  • Switcheroo's effect lasts only for the turn
  • The Wielder's +2 passive is already applied before Switcheroo; it does not reapply after the swap
  • There is debate about whether Switcheroo operates in layer 1 (assignment) or layer 3 (arithmetic), with the consensus leaning toward arithmetic but awaiting clarification in version 1.2
