When Ember Monk has multiple -3 Might reduction effects that would reduce it below 0, and then receives a +2 Might bonus, does it end up at 1 Might (minimum applied) or 3 Might (negative effects snapshotted)?

Answer

Ruling: Ember Monk will become 3 Might. Negative stat effects are snapshotted, meaning negative values don't change after being applied, so the full negative modifiers remain tracked even when the stat is treated as a minimum value.

Sequence:

  • Thousand Tail Watcher's trigger resolves: 4 - 3 = 1 Might
  • Ahri's trigger resolves: 4 - 3 - 0 = 1 Might (second -3 is snapshotted as -0 due to minimum)
  • Ember Monk's trigger resolves: 4 + 2 - 3 - 0 = 3 Might

Nuances:

  • The rule about treating Might less than 0 as 0 for all purposes is for edge cases involving damage checks, not for tracking ongoing modifiers
  • Negative effects are snapshotted at the value they would reduce the stat to (respecting minimums), but positive effects later still interact with all tracked modifiers
