When Viktor tokens attack a Nine-Tailed Fox (Ahri) and then Siphon is played during the focus step, what is the final Might of the tokens: 2 or 1? When does Nine-Tailed Fox's ability trigger?

Answer

Ruling: The tokens will have 2 Might. Nine-Tailed Fox's ability activates when the attack starts, but because the tokens are already at 1 Might, the ability gives -0 Might (snapshotted for the turn). When Siphon is played afterward, it adds +1 Might, resulting in 2 Might total.

Sequence:

  • When attacking begins, Nine-Tailed Fox's ability activates and attempts to give -1 Might
  • Since the recruit is already at 1 Might (minimum), the ability gives -0 Might instead (this value is remembered/snapshotted)
  • When Siphon is played, the recruit gets +1 Might
  • Final calculation: 1 (base) + 1 (Siphon) - 0 (Nine-Tailed Fox) = 2 Might

Nuances:

  • The -1 Might reduction is snapshotted when it first applies, so even though it becomes -0 due to the minimum Might rule, that -0 value persists for the rest of the turn
  • This interaction works the same way for multiple recruits
