Answer

Ruling: When a card instructs you to move a unit, you can move it from wherever it is to any legal location of your choice (including between battlefields or to/from base), other than its current location. The move does not exhaust the unit and does not trigger combat or any attacker/defender bonuses.

Sequence:

  • Move the unit to any legal location (except its current location)
  • No exhaustion occurs from the move
  • No showdown/combat is triggered by the move itself

Nuances:

  • This differs from the standard move action which has costs and restrictions (like not being able to move between battlefields without ganking)
  • Card-instructed moves have no cost and no restrictions
  • Attacker/defender buffs do not apply because showdown/combat cannot start until the chain is empty
