Answer

Ruling: You can bring pre-made sideboard guides and reference them between games, but they must not be visible or accessible during individual games. Your active note-taking sheet that is visible during gameplay must start blank at the beginning of each match.

Sequence:

  • At the start of a match, any note-taking device visible during gameplay must be blank
  • During games, pre-made notes (like sideboard guides) must be kept out of view (in a bag, deckbox, pocket, etc.)
  • Between games, you may take out and reference your pre-made notes
  • You can take new notes on your blank sheet during games and reference those throughout the match

Nuances:

  • There are two separate types of notes: (1) the blank sheet you write on during the current match, which can be visible at all times, and (2) pre-made materials from outside the match, which can only be accessed between games
  • Pre-made notes can be stored in your deckbox with your sideboard without issue during deck checks, as long as they're not accessed during games
