What happens if I use Temporal Breach on a token unit?
The token is banished and ceases to exist — it does not return.
Ruling: Temporal Breach on a token unit removes it permanently. The "play it back" part of the spell has nothing to act on.
Why: Temporal Breach first banishes the target → the token enters Banishment (a Non-Board Zone) → per Rule 183.1, it ceases to exist immediately upon arriving there. When the spell tries to have "its owner play it to the same location," the token is gone, so that instruction is ignored (Rule 359.3.e.6). This is the same principle that prevents bounced tokens from surviving the trip to hand (FAQ #2114) or banished tokens from returning via effects like Portal Rescue (FAQ #566).
