Can you pay with a gold token for Sigil of the storm?

No. A Gold token cannot pay for Sigil of the Storm's requirement.

Sigil of the Storm requires you to recycle one of your runes — that's a specific game action, not a generic "pay Power" cost. A Gold token's ability adds Power to your Rune Pool when you kill and exhaust it, but that's adding Power, not recycling a rune. The same distinction applies to Seals and Sigil gears: they generate Power through a different action, so they can't substitute (FAQs #6663, #6273, #8846).

If you have no runes to recycle, the trigger still resolves and does nothing — you don't need an alternative payment method (FAQ #6863).
