If a chosen champion is targeted with Rebuke, does it go to the controller's hand or to the trash?

When a chosen champion is targeted by Rebuke, it returns to its controller's hand, not the trash.

According to RiftJudge FAQ #3212:

"When you cast Retreat on your chosen champion, it goes to hand. Nuances: Even though the card is a chosen champion, Retreat treats it as a regular unit and returns it to hand rather than the champion zone."

While the FAQ specifically mentions "Retreat," Rebuke functions identically by returning a unit to its owner's hand. Chosen champions are treated as normal units while on the battlefield, and effects that return units to hand apply to them normally.
