Proposing edits

Contributor workflow

You can propose changes to the answer text, rule references, and a reason for the edit. The question text itself cannot be edited.
Multiple pending proposals are allowed on the same question.
After you submit, you'll see “Proposal submitted for review!” — arbiters see it in the Review Queue.

You may changeyour own pending Edit Proposal only — not other users' proposals.
You can change it only while it is still pending. This stops once an Arbiter Approves, Rejects, or Supercedes it.
The same fields as submit are editable: proposed answer, rule references, and reason. Question text is still not editable.
On the Question page, Change proposal on your own pending card opens the form inline.
If an Arbiter acts on your proposal first, your save fails and you can no longer change that proposal.
You may also Withdraw your own pending proposal to remove it from the Review Queue entirely. Withdrawn proposals cannot be restored — submit a new one if needed.

Your proposed answer replaces the current text and the question becomes verified
You earn +10 rep as the proposer
Any other pending proposals on the same question are automatically superseded

If an arbiter rejects your proposal, you'll receive a notification with the reason. Rejected proposals earn no reputation.

Each question page has a collapsible Correction History showing past approved edits — you can see how the answer evolved over time.
