What Chat is

Chat is a private back-and-forth with the judge. Ask follow-ups, refine a ruling, or work through a board state — all without posting to the community. Nothing you type in Chat is public until you choose to Submit as question.

Threads & history

Each Chat is its own thread. Open Recents to jump back to an earlier conversation, or New to start fresh. Threads are private to you; only you (and admins, for safety) can read them.

To keep things tidy, your 50 most recent threads stay in Recents. Older threads are archived out of the list but remain readable by direct link.

Citations & sources

Rule and FAQ references light up as pill chips right inside the answer, and a compact Sources strip lists everything the judge used. Tap any pill to open the rule or FAQ in the library.

Submit as question

When an answer is worth keeping in the library, use Submit as question under that turn. The judge drafts a standalone question from the exchange; confirm it to run the normal Ask insert path. The new question starts as unverified, just like any Ask submission, and a link back to it appears on the turn.

When to use Ask instead

Use Chat to think out loud. Use Ask when you want a single, public, community-verifiable ruling.
